Sweet C Bakery

We finally made it to Sweet C Bakery on east Kildare in Transcona. They had an assortment of dainties, cupcakes, cookies, ice cream sandwiches, sushi roll candy, and other delicious looking snacks. We opted to buy cupcakes. They were moist and piled high with icing and pretty toppings. They weren't too sweet which was nice.
If you are looking for an occasional treat to satisfy your cravings this place should do it! Good quality😋

World Class Ballet

We are so lucky in Winnipeg to have a world class ballet with our Royal Winnipeg Ballet. They never disappoint and their production of The Nutcracker is on point. The Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra is simply amazing.
It is nastalgic, fun and graceful. I love how much Canadiana is pulled into it from hockey to the Hudson Bay blanket. The sets are glorious.
We, also, enjoy the walk-on roles. Tonight was Maurice Leggett from the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. Tomorrow will feature Mark Schiefle and Jacob Trouba from the Winnipeg Jets.
For me The Nutcracker is a Christmas staple and I will drag whoever I can with me to go.
Make sure you get to see it.

A VIP Experience

First stop in the lounge for a drink and an appetizer. We enjoyed sitting next to the fireplace and lounging.

Then who wouldn't look forward to popcorn and a beer with service to your rocker lounge/loveseat? The food is decent, and not badly priced, unless you are going for popcorn and soda.

The seats are so comfy, and include a little table so you can pile it with your food and snacks.

I love that we have a VIP theatre in Winnipeg. It doesn't even matter what movie you see, the experience makes it feel special.

Enjoy the 18+ VIP Experience the next time you want to see a movie!

Walking in a Winter Wonderland!

Watch the bump at the entrance on the way in but then just breathe and soak it all in. The beauty of winter. The blessings of nature. The coziness. I enjoyed my walk around before heading indoors to be seated in the restaurant at Pineridge Hollow.

The host and servers are very friendly. The food was great and we shared a dessert that was huge and delicious! I love how many great local products they incorporate into their menu like Cornell Creme Ice Cream, Bothwell Cheese, Gunn's bakery bread, Nature's Farm eggs, local meat, Manitoba pickeral, and many more.

This is the type of restaurant we like to take our time at. The surroundings are just so relaxing and nurturing to the soul.

When we finished up we took a walk through the attached store. So many great gift ideas with a wide variety of local products.

If you have a couple hours to have a relaxing meal make sure you make a reservation for this out of the way eatery that is worth the drive.

Winter with Kids

When it's so cold outside all you may want to do is stay inside and keep warm and cozy. Then you find a small human tugging at your leg wanting to run and jump and be entertained! Now what!?

Well there are a number of great indoor activities in and around Winnipeg to do with your little ones over the winter:

Kids City is great for letting them run wild while you sit back and watch, with two different locations in the city 550 Archibald and 801 Century, you shouldn't be too far from either of them. Open daily to the public and also available for party bookings.
If you are in Selkirk they have their own version called Kountry Kids Jam Center at 511 Robinson Ave.
With slides, climbing structures and bouncy houses you can stay for hours until the kids are finally tires enough to go home. There are also snack shops at every location for refuelling!

Children's Museum
A fun and interactive time for all ages located at 45 Forks Market Rd.

Manitoba Museum
Another great learning experience for kids and fun too with a number of interactive exhibits as well as seasonal running exhibits (check the website for the latest) Here there is also the planetarium which is a great time for kids of all ages.
